Long Night of Science (June 2025)
20.06.2025On June 20, 2025, Dresden became a stage for science and innovation: the Long Night of Science inspired visitors of all ages with exciting insights into research and technology. For the members of the NET initiative, this night provided the perfect setting to create a special space—a place where the energy of the future became tangible.
Under the motto “Your drive – our future: From theory to practice,” guests were invited to get actively involved and experience how science and practice go hand in hand. The interactive area featured hands-on stations: visitors could try their first welding attempts using VR goggles to discover modern training technologies, or creatively build their own mini wind turbine. In a playful way, it became clear how much technology is embedded in sustainable energy—and how exciting technical professions and energy solutions can be.
The program was complemented by personal conversations with experts from various professional fields at our member organization SachsenEnergie. Whether vocational training, university studies, or a career change, these open and direct exchanges highlighted the wide range of career paths available in the energy sector. This event exemplifies NET’s educational mission: promoting STEM education from early childhood through to retirement. Together with partners such as NET’s member organizations, we create spaces where education, innovation, and practice come together—with the goal of inspiring talent for the energy world of tomorrow.
