NET @ Campus Day Lehrte – Experiencing and Understanding Energy
05.09.2025
Under the motto “Connecting energy. Shaping the future.”, the Campus Day in Lehrte opened its doors on September 5, 2025, to everyone—from school internships and vocational training to university studies, traineeships, direct entry positions, and senior expert roles. The event provided a platform to make our work visible beyond individual companies and locations. For NET, it was a great opportunity to bring the attractiveness of careers in the energy sector to life and to encourage exchange with emerging talent. The intensive dialogue among NET colleagues as well as with visitors was particularly valuable. From the very beginning, an open and curious atmosphere prevailed, leading to many engaging conversations. What made the event especially distinctive was our approach of not only explaining energy theoretically, but making it tangible through hands-on experience.
One highlight was the experiment with the Van de Graaff generator: visitors were able to experience the effects of high voltage firsthand. Anyone who touched the metal sphere immediately felt the electrifying impact. It was not just a slight tingling in the fingers—hair literally stood on end, and small sparks made the invisible electric charge visible. An experiment that truly inspired amazement and enthusiasm! In addition, there were other exciting experiments inviting participation and conveying the physical principles of energy in a playful way. The strong interest in our booth demonstrated how important it is to present complex topics in an accessible and fascinating manner. The added value for NET and for talents is clear: we create a platform for exchange, inspiration, and networking. Talents gain insights into the diverse career paths within the energy sector. The motto “Connecting energy. Shaping the future.” truly came to life on this day—together, we are making the energy transition possible.
