How do you explain how a heat pump works so clearly that even someone without technical knowledge can understand it...
Read moreThe energy sector is more exciting than you might think. It’s about more than electricity, grids and technology. It’s about solutions for climate, society and our everyday lives – and about people actively shaping the future.
Imagine developing power grids for millions of people, programming software for wind farms or working on the energy storage systems of tomorrow. These are exactly the kinds of tasks that exist in the energy sector – and they combine technology with real impact for climate, society and everyday life.
AI and digital systems help control power flows and keep grids stable. This requires people who understand and advance technology.
Wind farms at sea generate large amounts of renewable energy. From planning and construction to operation and grid connection, many different disciplines work together.
Battery storage helps make renewable energy available when it's needed. Technical innovations determine efficiency, performance and future viability.
Critical infrastructure must be reliably protected from hacker attacks. IT specialists ensure that energy supply remains digitally secure.
Energy, mobility, buildings and infrastructure must be thought of together. This requires new ideas, technical solutions and people who design complex systems.

Read moreNetwork Energy Talents is a network for young people, companies, universities, educational institutions and organizations around STEM, energy and the energy transition. The goal is to provide guidance to young talents and make the many opportunities in the energy sector visible.
Network Energy Talents is aimed at school students, university students, trainees, young professionals and young people interested in technology, natural sciences, digitalization, sustainability or climate protection.
No. That’s exactly the point. You don’t have to have made a final decision yet. NET helps you get to know careers, topics and paths so you can better find out what suits you.
The energy sector offers many different opportunities. These include technical careers, IT careers, engineering, natural sciences, skilled trades, project management, business, communication and many other areas.
Mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology help develop the energy supply of the future. Without STEM competencies there would be no modern power grids, no smart control systems, no new storage solutions and no climate-friendly technologies at scale.
NET is not a job board and cannot guarantee an internship or job. However, the network can help you get to know companies, build contacts and better understand what entry opportunities exist in the energy sector.
Network Energy Talents organizes and supports various formats, for example panel discussions, university events, trade fair appearances, practical formats, social media insights and in the future also mentoring programs.
You get a more realistic view of what work in the energy sector looks like. You can ask questions, get to know different roles and learn what paths other people have taken. This can help you with your own orientation.
Many programs for young talents are free of charge. Companies, public bodies and partners typically support the association’s work through memberships or sponsorship.
You can follow current projects, events and insights via the website and social media channels of EnergyTalents. This way you regularly receive new impulses from the network.
