Draw on the experience of experts who have successfully overcome the challenges of their studies and found their way into the energy sector, and get your career off to a flying start with our mentoring programme.
Places are limited! Participation is free!
Your mentoring journey lasts approximately six months and combines personal exchange, practical insights, and helpful guidance for your future path.
An experienced specialist or manager from the energy sector will guide you through the programme. Together, you will discuss issues relating to your studies, career prospects in the energy sector and the challenges you face in your day-to-day student life.
In one-to-one mentoring sessions, you’ll have the space to discuss your own issues, ask questions and make decisions. The discussions take place in confidence and on an equal footing.
You will gain insights into possible career paths and professional fields in the energy industry. This will help you better assess which opportunities match your interests.
In two workshops, you will learn practical methods and digital tools for self-organization, time management, and career entry.
At a peer meeting, you can exchange ideas with other students, share experiences, and discover new perspectives.
A workplace visit will show you what everyday professional life in the energy industry can look like. This gives you a direct impression of tasks, teams, and work areas.

Mentoring connects you with an experienced person who shares their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives with you. In Energy Mentoring by NET, your personal and professional path in the energy industry is the focus.
01
You speak confidentially and as equals with an experienced mentor about questions, decisions, and challenges.
02
You learn about various professional profiles, career paths, and work areas in the energy industry firsthand.
03
The experiences and perspectives of your mentor help you better assess your own opportunities and plan your next step.
You do not need to know exactly where your path will lead. What matters most is that you are curious, bring questions, and are eager to discover new perspectives.
You: send us a brief email with your motivation for participation and provide your name, university, field of study, and current semester.
We: review your expression of interest and, if there is a match, will contact you promptly with an invitation to the program. We will then prepare you in a personal onboarding session for your mentoring and cover the costs of your participation, including necessary travel or accommodation expenses for your workplace visit.
The mentoring programme is aimed primarily at first-year students of electrical engineering and industrial engineering. Particularly at the start of their degree, it helps them to better understand the challenges they face and to gain guidance on their future academic path.
In confidential discussions with experienced mentors, participants can discuss questions relating to their studies, personal goals and potential career paths. At the same time, participants gain an insight into practical areas of application within the energy sector and learn about the career opportunities that may arise from their studies.
You will participate in an online kick-off, be prepared for your first mentoring session in a peer talk, and receive an experienced mentor from the energy sector. Empowerment workshops and a workplace visit are also included.
Possible topics include study organization, career entry, application process, industry knowledge, everyday work life in companies, personal strengths, hard and soft skills, work-life balance, and dealing with challenges in your studies.
The program runs from October 2026 to March 2027.
You send a brief email to mentoring@energytalents.net with your motivation for participation and information about your name, university, field of study, and current semester.
The registration deadline is mid-September. Places are limited.
